The North Devon Business Showcase, now in its second year, is an exciting opportunity for businesses in North Devon and Torridge to get together and celebrate our vibrant business community. Thanks to the success of last year’s event, the 2008 Showcase will take place over two days - the 10th and 11th November at the Barnstaple Hotel - and promises to be bigger and better in so many ways. That means more networking opportunities, more business support and an extra day of useful seminars and workshops.
Event countdown is on
North Devon Business Showcase will be a two day event this year, held on Monday 10 and Tuesday 11 November at the Barnstaple Hotel. In total, 52 exhibitors will be attending the Business Showcase, some of which will be launching new products and others keen to sell their products or services to other companies. There will be a wide range of expertise and products exhibited, from interior designers and companies specialising in IT, traditional building materials, design and graphics, training, communications and many many others.

Event Speaker is announced
North Devon+ is delighted to announce that Katie Hopkins, the Bideford girl who gained notoriety after appearing on Sir Alan Sugar’s reality TV show The Apprentice, will be the keynote speaker for the North Devon Showcase. An economist by background, Katie is a graduate of The Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. Working for ten years as a jet-setting brand consultant Katie has lived and worked across the globe in London, Tokyo and New York advising luxury brands on how to deliver exceptional business performance.
Since her high profile walkout from Sir Alan’s boardroom she has gone on to launch her own successful consultancy firm – where she helps businesses do better. In addition to opening the event at 10 a.m. with a small welcome speech, Katie will be running a seminar entitled ‘Strategy to action - hands on help for a healthy business’ at 2 p.m. on Monday November 10th.
Business groups network together
The Business league and The North Devon Manufacturing Association will be working together with North Devon+ to bring you a social networking event at 7 p.m. on Monday the 10th of November. The event will feature door prizes, nibbles and networking.

This year’s theme “Connections for Success” will look at how we can make the most of our networks and contacts – as well as our skills, knowledge, innovations and enthusiasm - to keep our business community moving forward.
